Most heating and cooling systems used in Florida are heat pumps. Heat pumps both heat and cool your home on demand. They are mostly split units, meaning part of the system is outside (the condensor) and part is inside (the air handler). (see illustration)

First Coast will inspect your system in both heating and cooling cycles along with inspecting your duct systems, airhandler, condensor, piping, electrical disconnects, etc.

Your First Coast Inspector can inform you if you have a heat pump or just an AC unit with electrical heat. Electrical heat can be more expensive to operate than a heat pump depending upon it's general condition and operational status.
